Cost

Our Commitment and Your Contribution

Our collective contributes the wisdom to run these gatherings as well as the inftrastructure, relationships, and lineages we hold.

The cost of the TESJ Conference is included in the contribution you make.

We anticipate a group balanced on a sliding scale of $150 - $500 may cover about half of the actual costs. A few economic justice questions in the registration help you self-determine what is your most generous contribution, including questions about lodging, socioeconomic status, role, history, and identity. There is no scholarship below the scale for this event. A guide is offered to choose within the range:

- Supported: you currently have limited financial resources and will pay this amount yourself, you can benefit from access enabled by shared resources.

- Fair: for those with sufficient financial stability who can pay for the experience or have partial support personally or professionally to combine with their own resources.

- Re-balancing: for those with more than enough financial resources (personal and institutionally supported) willing to add to the communal support of the work and to help re-balance access for all.

- Sponsored: if you have an institution with a budget to use for your development, coordinate them paying in full and consider any matching amount you can offer to support the collective work, enable access, and offer everyone a diverse group experience. A follow up call can be arranged to discuss invoicing details, if necessary.

This event is by us, for us. There is no funding or scholarship below the scale for this event.

Next Steps

Group reservations and more will be made after a February 9th initial deadline. It is most helpful the sooner you can express interest and commit. Once you fill out the form, we will be in touch individually and with updates to all applicants. You will also need to register for the conference separately using this link.

Lodging will be booked based on your preference in the form: either on location or, for additional money, a nearby hotel. We will be in touch to confirm final placement before proceeding. A gathering spot (with some beds, but not enough for all) will be a short drive from Easthampton HS, where the conference on Saturday will take place. There are also questions in the form about transportation and other needs.

The group will be capped at 12 people. We will be inclusive to all, and if it comes to deciding about limited spots and a waitlist, after February 28th we will prioritize any of the following:

  • currently in Pre K-12 setting
  • trauma response/ESP/counseling (including administrators)
  • currently engaged in DEI coordination, inclusion coordination, or union organizing
  •  teacher/principal trainees in practicum
  • and/or diversity in all its forms having space in the group.

Please inquire via email with any and all questions or intitial interest!
